Freehold Estate

    The freehold estate in land, which is often shortened to a freehold estate or simply a freehold, is a type of land right known as the Estate in Land. The technical name for a freehold estate is the Fee Simple Absolute in Possession. There are two types of estates, the other type being the Leasehold Estate. The holder(s) of each estate gain rights to the land or property. Freeholders gain full ownership rights. Leaseholders and tenants, gain exclusive possession of the property for a specific amount of time.
